When secondary schools reopened this week under Covid -19 Level 2 protocol – there were extra challenges for teachers who are part of the Ako-Mātātupu: Teach First NZ programme.
The teachers are based at schools in some of New Zealand’s lowest income communities. And whilst the programme addresses inequity in our education system – the Covid 19 lockdown has amplified those inequalities – disadvantaging the students it is trying to help.
