Kia ora friend of NEXT,

When we set the education and environmental initiatives NEXT supports the challenge of coming up with an image and one sentence to illustrate their highlight of 2021 for our end of year newsletter, there was one photo that spoke to a theme common to them all.

Predator Free Wellington submitted an image of three kākā at a dance party – snapped by resident Carl Johnstone. The kākā are having an absolute ball, oblivious to the challenges the Covid pandemic is bringing to Aotearoa New Zealand and the world.
