Rotoroa Island is celebrating10 years as a wildlife sanctuary – and visitors over Easter were treated to a kiwi release.

The island was closed to the public for 100 years as The Salvation Army’s drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre – but it underwent a major environmental overhaul 10 years ago and has since become home to some of New Zealand’s most endangered species, as this report from TVOne News explains.
