Talking Matters – Keeping up the kōrero in Covid 19

The Covid-19 lockdown thrust families together in a way we never imagined.

But for parents who were part of the NEXT supported Talking Matters programme – it also gave them an opportunity to test tools and tips to communicate with their babies and young children.

The programme is based on “serve and return” communication with babies in their first 1,000 days of life – which helps support early brain development – a critical factor of success in later life.
